Block Diagrams

These are some system block diagrams of a few of the shows I've worked on. Bloody Poetry was presented in a small black box theatre with less than 50 seats. The sound design utilized Mid/Side playback to envelop the audience in the world of the play. Gospel at Colonus was presented in a mid sized theatre seating up to 600. Gospel tells the story of Oedipus at Colonus through a gospel style musical church service. It was designed by Tom Mardikes with myself assisting. The other 4 shows are standard Broadway style musicals presented in an outdoor venue seating 1000+ patrons. This venue had a sound system already in place, but I made major modifications and was the first Sound Designer or Engineer to work out a block diagram since the venue had been built over 20 years ago. The systems are largely the same, but due to the very tight schedule (less than a week between shows) the system block diagrams, along with other paperwork I generated, became worksheets to help me solve the unique challenges each show presented.

Truck Pack

This is one of several versions of the truck pack for the sound system from the recent tour of The King and I for which I was the A2. We would use different versions depending on the load in or out situations at hand. As usual, click on the image below to link to a larger version.
